Production diary

20th November

7:00pm: Today I experimented with camera angles and movement and did not shoot any of the actual production. I used stands and tripods to see how angles would work when I needed to film some of the scenes to make sure that all of the shots were possible. I did this so that when I needed to film I could so so easily and with not much trouble; I could set up whatever angle whenever I needed it because I was confident that they would work. I am now happy that I can produce all the angles I need for the ident.

21st November

9:00pm - 12:00am: Today I set up all of the equipment and began to shoot each scene. I found some angles tricky, but due to the individual workshop I did yesterday with furthering my camera shot skills, I could do it. I eventually shot the entire ident successfully - and without, surprisingly, any major problems. It all ran smoothly, and I had finished by midnight. I went home and reviewed the tapes. All shots are fine and useable for the final cut, meaning that I won't need to go back and film on another day. Today was a success altogether; I'm done with filming and I will be able to edit whenever I want.

22nd November

9:00am - 12:00pm: Today I am in school, editing. All scenes are shot, so all I need to do is cut some clips and put a few filters on areas of high contrast - some of my individual photographs are really bright and don't work well with some of the black and white shots. I made it work by putting a 'bad film' filter over some of the photographs to make it look better with the black and white parts of the film. It all worked out well in the end. It was a success, and was a useful part in making the film look good - therefore worth a few lessons worth of work.

23rd November

9:00am - 3:00pm: Today will be my final editing session. I'm almost finished with everything - my pre-production folder and blogger is complete, so I just need to finish up with the filters and cuts. I am pretty much finished anyway, I could leave it at this and be done, but I feel that I need to complete it to the best of my ability. I am also burning it onto a disc today so that it can be used in presentations to the class. Today was  good use of time, seeing as I have completed my film to a high standard and am happy with it.
